Baptism

Is Baptism is there before Jesus Christ. No there is no Baptism before Jesus Christ and there is not even a single word in the Old Testament regarding Baptism.

As Bible says that in this World John the Baptist was the first person who gives Baptism with water in the river Jordan. All the four Gospel says about the Baptism of John Matthew 3:1, Mark 1:4, Luke 3:3 and John 1:26.

Ephesians 4:5 says that that is one LORD, one FAITH and there is one BAPTISM. So there is only one baptism in the name of Jesus, after that there is no need to get any other Baptism. Baptism means a person accept Jesus in his/her heart and believe in Him.

As Bible said that Jesus took Baptism given by John the Baptist, in the Jordan River. Matthew 3:13, Mark 1:9 and Luke 3:21 clearly says that Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist. But after taking the Baptism from John the Baptist he told in Luke 12:50 that here is a baptism with which I must be baptized. He is talking about his death, which is the will of GOD. So by this line he gives another meaning that taking Baptism means doing the will of GOD.

Did Jesus say any rules and regulations to do the Baptism? No he didn't say anything like that. As in Matthew 28:19 he said to his disciples to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. We are following what John the Baptist has done. He use the water for baptism and we are following the same, which was followed by the early christians.

In John 3:22 says that Jesus went to the land of Judea and spent some time with baptism. Jesus give baptism at the same place where John the Baptist gave baptism previously. In Matthew 3:1-2 says that John the Baptist give the baptism in Judea area. But no where it tells that Jesus gives the baptism in the river or water. But in John 3:23 says that John the Baptist was also baptizing in Aenon near Salim, where there was abundance water. So for John's baptism water is a important part in the baptism, as he use to imerse the people in the Jordan river as a symbol of Baptism. But Jesus give Baptism on the other side of the river (John 3:26) , where there is no much water because John the Baptist move from Judea to Aenon near Salim because of less water in Judea. So for the Baptism given by Jesus there is no need for much water. But again in John 4:2-3 says that he didn't give baptism but his disciples give the baptism.

In Act 1:5 Jesus clearly says that you already get the baptism of John but you are going to get th baptism of holy sprit soon, which clearly says that baptism of holysprit is really important than water baptism. Here a question comes as can three be more than one Baptism. No as in Ephesians 4:5 it clearly says that there is on Baptism.

In Act 2:38 Peter clearly says that we need to repent and baptized in the name of Jesus and more than 3000 peoples baptized on that day.

Is Baptism is the gateway to get the Holy Sprit, even I too think the same still I read the bible passage Act 10:44-48. When peter preach the Gospal to the Gentiles they didn't get Baptism. But when peter and other prayed they got the Gift of Holy Sprit. Then Peter ask to give Baptism to them. By this we can understand that the real zeel of a person to get the Holy Sprit that Baptism.

Baptism in the name of Jesus is the important thing than any other things.
