Fasting

As ths is the lent time How may of you fasting on these days. As a Catholic we should fast on Ash wednesday and also on Good Friday. Hope you will fast and get the Grace from our Lord Jesus christ.

Fasting is an important part of Christian life. Through fasting we can get everything from our LORD Jesus. Even Jesus fast before he starts his ministry. As per Matthew 4: 2 he fast for forty days and at that time he didn't drink and eat anything. As a GOD he needs fasting to start a godly work, how important it’s for us to start a work with a fasting prayer.

Jesus also told us how we need to act or behave while we are fasting.As in Matthew 6: 16-18 he says that we should not make our appearance to show others that we are fasting. In Matthew 6:16 it clearly says that we will not get any reward from the GOD as we already get the reward. As for a fasting we can get only one reward, either from GOD or from the World. It’s in our hand that where we need to get the reward, from GOD or from the World. In Matthew 6: 17 and 6:18 Jesus said that we need to wash our face and anoint our head, which hides our fasting from the people and we will get the reward from our LORD Jesus.

As Jesus said in Matthew 6:17 and 6:18 we need to wash our face and anoint our head. My understanding in this words is with the word wash our face Jesus ask us to clean our sins and anoint our head is to get the gift of Holy Sprit. So the fasting time is the best time to purify us from our sins and also to get the Holy Sprit.
